Central Coast Steiner School

Welcome to Central Coast Steiner School

The Central Coast Steiner School offers an affordable, contemporary educational pathway from Early Childhood to Year 12.

The school's outstanding facilities are located within a beautiful bush setting. Our holistic approach to learning fosters academic excellence, whilst placing great importance on creative as well as practical experiences.

The Central Coast Steiner School inspires students with a love of learning through our commitment to meeting the needs and abilities of each individual. Central Coast Steiner School students graduate equipped to fulfill their potential with confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose.

Early Kindergarten

The Central Coast Steiner School offers a three-day program which gently introduces the child to a calm, unhurried approach to learning.

The program gives generous opportunities for free imaginative play, and our beautiful, home-like environment is a place where each individual is lovingly nurtured.

At this stage what the child learns at the Central Coast Steiner School, is mainly imparted through example and the day is about doing everyday tasks together- such as baking the bread for morning tea.

Artistic activities, such as painting, drawing, craft, puppetry and storytelling foster the child’s imagination. A deep love of Mother Nature is awakened as the changing seasons are observed and celebrated.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten at the Central Coast Steiner School offers a play-based curriculum which fosters the child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.

The kindergarten is orderly, beautiful and calm, inviting the child to engage in learning in a secure, creative and inspiring environment. Our play materials are natural and open-ended- allowing the child’s imagination to come alive.

Building strong foundations for literacy, we develop a genuine love of language through verse, song, rhythms, rhymes and stories. The child experiences a rich variety of oral language experiences.

The arts and craft activities- such as beeswax modelling, finger knitting, weaving, sewing and painting that are offered at the Central Coast Steiner School- develop dexterity and an appreciation of beauty and craftsmanship.

Primary School

In our primary school, the individual is celebrated within a strong, supportive community.

The teachers at the Central Coast Steiner School are fully qualified and dedicated to nurturing a genuine love of learning in each child. Each class has a teacher who stays with that class from class one until the end of class seven, comprehensively tracking the learning needs of each individual.

Class teachers are supported by specialist language, arts, PE, library and music teachers.

High School

The secondary program at The Central Coast Steiner School extends to Year 12. Our curriculum invites students to enrich their academic thinking with a sense of social responsibility and ethical engagement.

The integrated inquiry-based approach continues within a curriculum that is increasingly specialised.

Central Coast Steiner School students have access to an impressive suite of Apple laptops and are taught to use technology responsibly and creatively.

Our exciting outdoor education program includes the Duke of Edinburgh option. Music, drama and visual arts are central to an approach to learning that is both engaging and relevant.

A highlight of our class 10 experience at the Central Coast Steiner School is the service learning component where students can travel to Cambodia and work at an orphanage.

Such experiences are formative in gaining perspective and a sense of responsible global citizenship. Our students take their place in the world with confidence.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (Years 11 and 12)

As we set sail on a new educational voyage, a warm and enthusiastic welcome awaits our Year 11 and Year 12 students at Central Coast Steiner School, heralding the introduction of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme from 2025. Our vision for this journey is to nurture students who not only acquire profound breadth and depth of knowledge, but also thrive holistically—physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically.

What is the IB Diploma?

The Diploma Programme (DP) is composed of six diverse subject groups, complemented by the DP core, encompassing theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS), and the extended essay. Within the core of the DP, students embark on a voyage of self-discovery, contemplating the essence of knowledge, pursuing independent research, and contributing to projects often intertwined with community service.

What subjects will Central Coast Steiner School offer?

Our curriculum offerings span the spectrum of the six IB Diploma groups:

• English Language and Literature (Group 1),
• Spanish (Beginners) (Group 2),
• Psychology and/or Business Management (Group 3),
• Environmental Systems and Societies (Group 4),
• Mathematics (Group 5), and
• Film Studies (Group 6).

To cater to individual interests, students have the option to delve into an additional individuals and societies subject (Group 3) or study an additional language (Group 2) instead of Film Studies.

The introduction of the IB Diploma marks an exhilarating moment in the journey of Central Coast Steiner School, filled with promise and potential.
