Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a co-educational Catholic secondary college dedicated to learning excellence in a faith-filled, engaged and supportive environment.
Located in Braybrook in Melbourne’s inner-western corridor, the College has separate junior campuses for boys and girls in Years 7 to 9 and a co-educational senior campus offering VCE, VET and VCAL programs.
Our 1500 students enjoy a rich variety of educational opportunities inside and outside the classroom, as well as fantastic facilities and the support of caring and committed teachers.
Each student is known and valued in the College’s inclusive multicultural community, comprising more than 60 nationalities.
Our mission is to educate and prepare students to be the best they are called to be, living out our values of faith, acceptance, compassion and excellence.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College encourages every student to strive for excellence and fulfil their potential, no matter where their individual talents and interests lie – whether academically with science and mathematics, artistically with music and drama, hands on in the trade training centre or in out-of-classroom areas such as sport and social justice.
The College offers more than 50 VCE subjects, along with VET and VCAL programs, as well as opportunities to study university units in Year 12.
Academically gifted students are encouraged to participate in our accelerated educational and enrichment programs, while dedicated teachers and learning support staff provide extra help to those who need it.
We use a personalised learning approach, tailoring support to the learning needs, interests and readiness of each student with the goal of improving their ability to create, remember, understand and apply information.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College seeks to provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students with a range of abilities, interests and backgrounds.
In addition to core subjects, the College offers sports, music, visual and performing arts, languages other than English, technology and other hands-on studies.
Students are encouraged to be the best they are called to be – both inside and outside the classroom, through opportunities including international exchange, musicals, debating, sports, volunteering, book and science clubs, student leadership positions and more.
College facilities include a swimming pool, auditorium, libraries and a wholly-owned outdoor education campus.
ATAR scores are improving year after year and the College is particularly strong in mathematics and sciences; in 2015, students achieved perfect VCE study scores of 50 out of 50 in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematical Methods and IT Applications.
Four in five of our students go on to university. We also offer the option of VCAL qualifications for students who aspire to a career in the trades.
Our teachers and leadership team care about each student, not just as a learner, but as a whole person.
Those joining the school at Year 7 enjoy a special transition program to help them form new friendships and get to know each other.
Initiatives through the College’s Family Schools Partnerships Program include breakfast clubs, adult English and IT classes, homework help workshops and swimming lessons. The College employs a dedicated team to ensure each student is happy, safe and feels they belong, including learning support officers, literacy and numeracy support staff, English as Additional Language (EAL) teachers, psychologists, a social worker and family liaison staff.
