Melbourne Girls Grammar

Leader in girls education since 1893

Melbourne Girls Grammar (MGGS) is a progressive, contemporary and independent school, which has delivered an exceptional education for girls from Early Learning to Year 12 for 130 years.
A leader in girls’ education, our School has built an outstanding reputation for excellence, enabling students to develop with confidence and independence.
Our holistic learning programs are second to none, led by a team of exceptional educators who challenge and maximise the potential of each and every girl.
World-class learning, state-of-the-art facilities and an extensive co-curricular program inspire each student to achieve their best in the classroom and beyond.
Melbourne Girls Grammar is a place where challenge and choice create opportunities for every student to discover who she is meant to be.

The MGGS Difference

We take the education of girls very seriously, ensuring our Grammarians are active participants in their learning.
We offer a completely customised learning program to give our students an edge while encouraging individual passions.
Challenge and choice are key elements to our progressive educational outlook. We are and always have been an innovative, forward-thinking school. Melbourne Girls Grammar graduates leave the School with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to navigate whatever life throws their way.

A Girl’s Education

A Melbourne Girls Grammar education prepares students to excel in any pathway they choose. We focus on teaching the whole girl and attribute our success to a holistic focus on wellbeing and academics, offer more than 60 co-curricular activities so our girls can discover their passions, and
in our Senior Years Program, coaching is a part of each girl’s school week where we pair a student with a coach to keep girls on track towards ‘the big picture’.

STEM

Our Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics program builds girls’ confidence and competencies in solving design, systems and computational problems. We are excited by the challenge of preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s technology. Our STEM program fosters budding futurists who are enamoured by what could be, and who are excited to be an enterprising part of making their visions of the future become a reality.

Some of the most important things your daughter will learn as a boarder have nothing to do with the work.
She’ll develop a unique relationship with the School as a home and with her friends as sisters. She’ll be nurtured and extended. Encouraged to build the confidence, knowledge and skills to run her own race in life after school.
Come and experience our world-class offering, set in the heart of Melbourne’s dynamic art, sporting and cultural centre.
