Tyndale Christian School

Tyndale Christian School

Tyndale Christian School is a non-denominational, co-educational Prep to Year 12 school of approximately 870 students, set on 5.6 hectares in the outer western suburbs of Sydney. Tyndale is owned and governed by an association of Christian parents, and focuses on educating children in the context of a Christian community.

Students at Tyndale benefit from a technologically rich, teaching environment, with a one-to-one laptop program in Years 10-12, personal iPads in Middle School and all teaching spaces equipped with ICT Technology. In addition, there is recognition at Tyndale of the importance of fundamental skills, with a consistent approach to literacy in Junior School. Music skills are developed through extensive programs, including Year 4 Band, Concert Band, Praise and Worship groups and a Tutor program. While the school has a strong academic focus, and offers Extension classes and subjects, the diversity of children’s gifts is celebrated. Sporting teams, Drama activities, a fully equipped commercial kitchen and specialist facilities in Wood and Metal Technology, Graphics and Visual Arts, as well as an exemplary Learning Support Team ensure that all students have opportunities to achieve.

Christian discipleship and pastoral care are priorities at Tyndale. All students participate in Devotional and Biblical Studies programs, and Middle and Senior Schools teachers meet weekly with small groups of students for discussion and relationship building. Camps are a highlight of the year for all students in Years 5 – 12, where strong peer and teacher relationships are fostered, in the midst of outdoor education, historical and cultural site visits and creative and study skills development.

Through biblically grounded, Christ-centred teaching and learning, students at Tyndale grow in their understanding of God’s world, and are enabled and encouraged to become disciples of Christ and serve Him in all areas of life.

Prep Years

Prep is a transitional stage where children become comfortable with the routines of school life at Tyndale Christian School, with stimulating learning experiences and skills in pre-maths, pre-writing and pre-reading, discovering the wonders of God's creation and working on positive social interactions that build autonomy and confidence.

Junior School

From Kindergarten to Year 5 students at Tyndale Christian School are immersed in a world of co-operative, purposeful and interesting learning. Within this context, the talents of individual children are nurtured and individual needs met.

Middle Years

In the Middle Years at Tyndale Christian School, units have been designed specifically to have a focus and themes that seek to be applicable to adolescents. The learning activities in core units have been developed in a way that seeks to foster a desire to learn, and equip students with the skills needed to undertake research and individual investigation. These skills assist our students to be active learners, and provide them with many of the skills required for senior study.

Senior Years

At Tyndale Christian School all students are valued members of the school community and all are gifted in unique ways. At our school no student is valued over others and therefore the school does not place individual students on a pedestal.

Academic success is a priority in the Senior Years and Students in Years 11 and 12 are not expected to participate in compulsory Sport, although Year 11 students are able to play inter-school Sport activities.

In addition to their academic education, students throughout their years at Tyndale Christian School enjoy a range of extra curricular activities as well as excursions.
