The skills built upon in the Early Years Program provide a strong foundation for the Junior School curriculum.
All Junior school students are encouraged to explore, strive for, and achieve their potential, as well as widen their interests and abilities through the Differentiated Curriculum as well as the Enrichment and Extension Program. The academic curriculum incorporates both strong core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Society and Its Environment, Health and Physical Education, in addition to Technology the Creative Arts.
In the Senior school curriculum Macquarie College aims to curate an enriching program featuring many academic opportunities, including English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, and Computer Competitions, as well as debating, public speaking and Mock Trials.
Through its senior academic program, Macquarie College aims to foster the skills of motivation, time management, and personal responsibility, necessary for independent learning.
The Senior School has a relationship with a range of external professional organisations and tertiary institutions.

Pastoral Care is a vital feature of the Macquarie College. There are two chaplains in the Junior School, who administer weekly lessons for each class, which combine prayer, music and drama, film and guest speaker presentations to make each session relevant to students.
A fully qualified school counsellor is available to see children when a request or a referral is made by a teacher or a parent. The counsellor is also involved in the Personal Development area of the curriculum and can work in the classroom with the classroom teacher when a specific need has been identified.
The Career Guidance program of the College places considerable emphasis on preparing and guiding students in their professional and vocational choices. As prospective leaders in the community, students are encouraged to recognise the value and dignity of work, responsibility, reliability, initiative, and enterprise. |
