Howard Gardner's Five Minds for the Future

The Ipswich State High School has adopted Howard Gardner's Five Minds for the Future as the basis for its Curriculum Framework. Society's future leaders need to be able to develop certain ways of thinking and working which allow them to bring their best to any situation. Professor Gardner describes these as five minds - THE DISCIPLINED MIND; THE SYNTHESISING MIND; THE CREATIVE MIND; THE RESPECTFUL MIND; AND THE ETHICAL MIND.

ACE (Accelerated Curriculum Enhancement) Program

The ACE Program is provided to those students identified as benefitting from academic extension activities. These students are selected on enrolment following academic testing in addition to recommendation from their previous school, and provided with a notebook computer by the school.

Sporting Excellence Programs

Football and Volleyball Studies provide students with an opportunity to work toward achieving representative honours at District Regional, State and National level.

Extra-Curricular Dance Program

Available to students from all years.

Enrichment Hub

Here at The Ipswich State High School we provide specialised support for students with a range of disabilities and unique learning needs through our Special Education Program and our Student Welfare Team who support students to engage in education.
