Our School

Living Faith Lutheran Primary School exists to inspire minds, illuminate hearts and ignite service founded on the love of Christ. Staffed with specialists in primary schooling, Living Faith provides co-educational Prep to Year 6 Christian education, where every child matters and families unite in community. Established in 2001, Living Faith prides itself on being a caring, family friendly community, providing a contemporary education in a Christian environment. Living Faith intentionally embeds its Christian values in everyday life.

Living Faith is open to all who support its Christian ethos, with students attending from a wide range of religious backgrounds.

Learning within the classroom

Teachers at Living Faith Lutheran Primary School are selected for their ability to develop a positive, engaging and collaborative classroom climate where each child is valued for the individual they are.

The school is at the forefront of contemporary and entrepreneurial education, offering an innovative and forward-thinking approach to student engagement and creativity with a mixture of traditional classrooms (Prep to Years 2) and agile flexible learning spaces (Years 3 to 6), with the highest-quality technology resources. All students participate in three dynamic and celebrated specialist lessons: Music, German and Physical Education.

Beyond the classroom

Children have opportunity to discover new skills, forge new relationships and learn from adults other than their teachers and parents through a range of learning experiences that take place outside of the everyday classroom. Programs that assist in developing a family friendly culture within Living Faith Lutheran Primary School include lunch time club activities (eg Robotics), buddy relationships between senior and junior students and musical productions. Highlights of the Living Faith culture are sporting opportunities whereby students are encouraged represent the school in individual and team sports within the regional district, nationals and Inter-Lutheran; as well as a violin program for all Year 2 students.

Students and staff begin each week in God’s name through corporate worship, affectionately referred to as HOP (Hearts of Praise). Services are led by congregational staff, school leadership and students.

Other services

A chaplain (employed under the National Government Chaplaincy Programme) is available for additional formal support for students and their families.

Living Faith Lutheran Primary School partners with Grace Lutheran College, Rothwell and Caboolture. Students receive priority entry into the College, beginning with the Middle years at Year 7.

An Outside Schools Hours Care Service (before and after school and school holidays) operates from the school grounds.

Kindergarten

January 2015 saw the inception of Living Faith Lutheran Kindergarten. Conveniently located on the same grounds as the school, the kindergarten is run under a long day care model from 6:30am to 6:00pm 50 weeks per year. It comprises two rooms, with 22 children per room, specialising in care for children the year before they commence Prep.

At Living Faith Lutheran Kindergarten, all children are seen as unique and special creations of God. The distinct Living Faith Christian ethos is expressed through the culture of the kindergarten, all teaching and learning experiences, pastoral care of children and staff, policies and practices.

A wide range of perspectives and understanding are embraced, fostering a strong play based learning environment where children are co-creators of their learning journeys. Children’s development is supported through asking questions, which in turn helps children to seek solutions and encourages them to experiment and problem solve. Children are encouraged to develop a cooperative culture that supports taking risks and expressing ideas.
