Welcome to St Mark’s Anglican Community School

St Mark’s has grown from humble beginnings in 1986 to be a thriving educational community of more than 1700 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

A commitment to developing the ‘whole person’ is at the core of a St Mark’s education through a diverse and enriching set of learning experiences including distinctive programs in the arts, sport, outdoor education and service to the community.

The School's hope is that St Mark’s students will be typified by their compassion, their resilience, their pursuit of excellence, and their sense of community and global responsibility.

A School of the Anglican Schools Commission

St Mark’s Anglican Community School one of fourteen schools in the Anglican Schools Commission. As centres of excellence in teaching and learning, pastoral care, worship, and service, the schools of the Anglican Schools Commission are distinctively Christian communities, fulfilling the Gospel imperative to teach the faith and nurture the young.

Strategic Priorities

The St Mark’s Strategic Plan focuses on three strategic priorities over the next five years:

* Academics: raising the academic ethos and profile of the School.
* The Arts and Creativity: increasing our focus on the arts, creativity and innovation.
* Global Citizenship: connecting meaningfully with the Indian Ocean Rim and becoming more international in our perspective.

School Curriculum

St Mark's Anglican Community School curriculum complies with the requirements of the Curriculum Framework for Kindergarten to Year 12 Education in Western Australia. The School's rich curriculum is the total of all activities, both formal and informal, which take place inside and outside the classroom, and before and after the hours of normal instruction.

The School endeavours to cater for children with a wide range of abilities through learning enrichment programs, which offer extension and support.

Christian Ethos

St Mark's provides families with the opportunity of an education based on Christian practice and faith. The School practices its faith through:

* care and concern for each individual member of the School community;
* care and concern for the wider community;
* development and implementation of its educational program based on the Christian faith; and
* incorporating a strong philosophy and practice of pastoral care.

The St Mark’s Anglican Community School admissions process embraces the diversity of our Community and we welcome your application. Parents who wish to apply for admission, are required to forward a completed Application for Admission (one per child) to the School, accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee of $50.
