4 CAMPUS COLLEGE

Georges River College comprises of four campuses, one senior campus and three middle schools. They are Georges River College Oatley Senior Campus, Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus and Georges River College Hurstville Boys Campus. Students from the middle schools transition onto Georges River College Oatley Senior Campus. The total population of the four campuses is approximately 2,500 students.

Special Programs or Initiatives

Georges River College Peakhurst offers a wide range of extra curricula enrichment programs and activities designed to provide students with opportunities to further develop their interests, talents and skills. Additional educational programs include: selective and enrichment classes, Gifted and Talented programs, daily Literacy and Numeracy programs, representative and recreational sport, Student Leadership opportunities, Peer Support and access to the Homework Centre. Special programs also include: debating, public speaking, Duke of Edinburgh, school concert band and Georges River College stage band, choir, visual art workshops, dance ensembles and school aerobic dance programs.

Technology

The school website has subject and faculty links that enable a wide range of information and communication with all the school stakeholders and the wider community. Additional learning activities and e-learning programs, through the use of MOODLE, are widely used for curriculum and educational delivery.

Student Wellbeing

Values education, social and emotional resilience programs are offered in the form of a values education program The Georges River College Way.This program, Positive Behaviour Learning and instruction, lies behind the way we think, act and feel about ourselves and about others at Peakhurst Campus. These statements are displayed around the school and allow us to continually promote and reinforce a set of values for our students to aspire to which are respect, responsibility and academic excellence (doing your personal best). The school promotes peer support, peer mediation, peer tutoring and mentoring programs to support student participation and engagement within the school.

Student Leadership

All students are offered a range of leadership opportunities in the school through the Student Representative Council (SRC), peer support & mentoring programs, representative sport and community volunteering programs.

Special Features

Disabled access throughout school includes: wheelchair ramps, elevator access to all levels of each block (two elevators), three wheelchair accessible toilets and one disabled showering facility.

Dance Success

Our GRC Peakhurst Dance Company, PeakAbility Dance Group and our Titanium Aerobics Team have recently returned from the Gold Coast, Queensland where they competed in the highly competitive Dance Star and Schoolaerobics 2015 National Championships.

We are thrilled to announce that we brought home the bronze medal in the Primary Theatrical division, ranked fifth in Australia in Contemporary Dance and ranked eighth in Australia in the Fitness Aerobics division.

PeakForm 2015 - Future Legends

PeakForm is an amazing opportunity for family, friends and members of the community to experience the incredible talent here at GRC Peakhurst.

PeakForm is a variety show with high calibre performances highlighting the work students have been doing throughout 2015. The show includes, dance, drama, aerobics and musical items.

There will be two performances this year:

* Matinee Preview Performance: Wednesday, 26th August, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

* Evening Performance: Friday, 28th August, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Both performances will be held in the school hall.
