Trinity Anglican College

Welcome to Trinity Anglican College

I hope that the information you find here will give you a good overview of the Trinity community. I would encourage you however, to arrange to visit us as it is difficult to convey through this medium the many strengths of the College. I think you will find Trinity to be as we do: a very friendly, positive and productive community!

One College - Two Campuses

Trinity Anglican College is a co-educational independent Anglican College. The College has two campuses and three sub-schools; Preparatory School - Kinder/Prep to Year 5, Middle School - Year 6 to Year 9, and Senior School - Year 10 to Year 12.

One campus is in Thurgoona, Albury, NSW offering Kindergarten to Year 12. The other campus is in Baranduda, Wodonga, Victoria where Prep to Year 9 is offered. The Senior School runs at the Albury campus. Both campuses are set on 10 ha of semi-rural surrounds.

Profile

Trinity Anglican College is an independent school of excellence, offering holistic educational programmes which are accessible to all. The College is based on the Christian teachings of the Gospels and is located in beautiful Albury Wodonga. Trinity is passionate about the care of its students and their families, academic excellence, participation in a range of activities, links to the community, innovative pathways in education and growth in Christian and civic values.

Curriculum

The College meets all requirements of the NSW Board of Studies. It offers comprehensive and appropriate educational programs in the full range of Key Learning Areas from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College stresses flexible progression of students in an imaginative, purposeful and enjoyable learning environment.

Extra time is provided for the Humanities and the Social Sciences in order to provide a philosophical basis for the student's future studies. Language study is encouraged and computer use a mandatory adjunct or tool for existing disciplines, in order for the students to recognise the importance of technology in specific contexts.

Particular emphasis is placed on learning by doing, or experiential education, in as many areas as is appropriate and practical.

Welfare and Discipline

Bullying and harassment are particularly targeted as being irreconcilable with the College's educational philosopy. A significant component of the College's approach to student welfare lies in the spending of time with those for whom behaviour is an issue. There is a very strong emphasis on pastoral care with opportunities for individual care and counselling, especially with the involvement of the Chaplain. The College aims to have all students grow in self-discipline and to show care and understanding for the particular needs and circumstances of every student. At the same time, the College requires conformity of courtesy, public behaviour and uniform to the highest possible standards.

Unique Activities

A high involvement in a range of College and community activities is expected of the students. In line with the liberal nature of the College, sporting activities, public speaking, music, dance, drama, eisteddfod, representation in community groups and forums, service activities in association with local service clubs, charity work, outdoor and experiential activities, all facilitate interest outside of the College activities.
