We have changed our name from The Industry Trade College (AITC) to The Industry School.
We are educating tomorrow’s industry leaders. And just like our young people, The Industry School is unique. As a fierce advocate for industry-based curriculum design that honours technical and emotional intelligence, The Industry School has achieved significant and sustainable employment outcomes for over 1,400 young people over the past 12 years. Our purpose is to educate tomorrow’s industry leaders. We do this in a number of different ways; an agile and responsive approach to industry needs, industry coaches, practical work experience, innovative teaching and learning, and intrinsic links with industry networks. Our Years 10, 11 and 12 students spend two-thirds of their year outside of the classroom, immersed in industry. |

This is made possible with a unique model; five weeks of a term is dedicated to education, and the other half is dedicated to work experience and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships in industry. |
The Industry School curriculum is contextualised and informed by various industry sectors in both delivery and assessment. Theory components are delivered in a practical pedagogical method and content is intrinsically interwoven with the School’s values and 10 employability metrics. |
It’s about the holistic development of a resilient and productive future industry leader, regardless of their career of choice. This development commences before the start of term, with a comprehensive induction program and residential camp for all new students to acquire the skills and qualities required to be successful at the school and in the world of work. |

The program imbues respect, honesty, pride, courage, hard work, safety, and mateship - the bedrock of The Industry School values-based education – in young people. It’s a challenging yet character-building initiation that develops safety, employability and community. |

The Industry School has a unique and highly effective model of learning, with outstanding results. In 2020, 99% of graduates achieved their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and 90% graduated with a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship. The Industry School has five campuses across South East Queensland (Gold Coast, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Ipswich). |
