Welcome to MSA

Mastery Schools Australia opened its first campus in Varsity Lakes in 2021 to provide a quality educational alternative for students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream schooling.

MSA is a Middle School that caters for students from years 4-10 with campuses now located across the east-coast of Australia and we aim to develop the academic foundations and resilience to allow students to re-enter mainstream education Australia wide.

MSA offers evidence-based, structured approaches to support learning and development across a range of student needs. We meet students where they are at and ensure they have the proper support and systems to leverage their strengths and potential to accelerate their learning.
Our emphasis is on exceptional teaching, quality curriculum and programs, and high expectations of students and staff. We believe this focus will produce exceptional results for our students.

Our Student Body

Mastery Schools Australia offers students an alternative education solution for those who do not fit into the mainstream education system. This could be due to social, emotional or behavioural factors. The School prides itself on providing education which is innovative, and which meets the needs of students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.

Mastery Teaching

Mastery Teaching is at the core of our approach. The aim of Mastery Teaching is to ensure students have deep learning of content before moving on.

The components of our approach are:
- Place an emphasis on the science of how students learn.
- Actively facilitate student’s learning by using evidence-based high yield instructional strategies.
- Scaffold student’s learning using explicit and direct, structured instruction to develop concept and skill.
- Use authentic assessment practices that engage with children’s diverse understandings, capabilities and dispositions and empower children to begin to assess their own learning and others’ learning.
- Foster ongoing, authentic relationships.
Use the links between levels of the Australian Curriculum to plan and implement a seamless curriculum.
