Pre-School to Year 12

Pre-School:
The Children's Centre services are Pre-School days for 3-5 year olds, Playgroups and information for Parents of young children aged 0-5. We pursue excellence in providing a safe, secure and exciting learning space for children, their families, educators and visitors.

Primary Years:
During the Primary Years at Avenues College we have a particular focus on building the foundation and thinking skills for a successful education and the years beyond. Natural learning dispositions such as curiosity and questioning are fostered along with the traditional skills reading, writing, speaking and mathematics. Avenues College gives children an opportunity to use their skills and knowledge in a myriad of forums and to become well-rounded individuals.

Secondary Years:
Avenues College is committed to providing high quality, innovative, challenging and responsive educational programs to cater for the learning needs of all our students B-12. We have a commitment to supporting students achieve their potential.
Our innovative and rigorous academic program allows our students to prepare for the future by becoming active contributing members of our global society.

Aboriginal Education

We foster positive relationships and genuine cooperative partnerships with our B-12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students - some of whom are EALD Learners, and their families, that complement our College values of Courage, Creativity, Resilience and Respect. Our vision is to support our B-12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students,so that they are proud and confident learners, achieving at their highest potential.

Centre of Deaf Education

Avenues College is one of two secondary sites in South Australia which has a "Centre of Deaf Education".

The centre caters for students in year 7 to 12 and provides a variety of learning pathways. Students have access to all of the schools programs including all school and SACE offered subjects, VET and extracurricular activities.

We provide a high quality bimodal/ bicultural inclusive program which is taught and supported by highly qualified staff to ensure that the education and wellbeing of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is of the highest standard.

VET - Vocational Education and Training

Our VET in Schools program is suitable for students with a range of academic capabilities. High achieving students have the opportunity to fast track their pathway to university qualification or gain key skills that will secure entry level positions that will complement further studies. It also provides disengaged students with the opportunity to gain an insight into possible career and study pathways in a more practical learning environment.

Vocational education and training (VET) enables students to gain qualifications for all types of employment, and specific skills to help them in the workplace. Qualifications range from Certificate I through to Advance Diploma.
