Welcome to St Andrew’s Catholic College, Redlynch Valley. St Andrew’s is a Catholic co-educational College which opened in 2001 and is situated in the Parish of the Northern Beaches in the heart of Redlynch. St Andrew’s Catholic College has a student-centered focus and genuine partnerships with families.
We believe in giving girls and boys both a purpose and an identity through challenging them to become active, innovative, responsible citizens and we at St Andrew’s Catholic College believe that students can best develop these essential skills in a co-educational environment.
St Andrew’s Catholic College is a place of faith development, spirituality, knowledge and recreation, with the beauty of the local environment as a backdrop. At St Andrew’s, we are concerned about the full development of each student – the physical, intellectual, spiritual, social and emotional development.
Our actions and decisions are based on the Gospel values taught by Jesus Christ. St Andrew’s Catholic College will always strive to be a place where the contribution of parents will be valued and where open, honest and effective communication is a way of life.
I welcome you to participate in building this vibrant, caring community of St Andrew’s where the way we educate is filled with God’s love.
Mr Lee MacMaster

St Andrew’s Catholic College is a relatively new 1650 student Prep to Year 12 College established in 2001 and located in the Redlynch Valley approximately 10km north west of the Cairns CBD.
The College provides exciting educational opportunities in bright, spacious, modern buildings set in an attractive open landscaped environment and grouped on the site to provide for the needs of Junior Years (Prep to Year 5), Middle Years (Years 6 to Year 9) and Senior Years (Years 10 to Year 12).
St Andrew's is a Catholic College where the relationships of trust and respect among students and teachers, the committed involvement of parents and others in the College and the school's outreach into the local community is evident. |

Junior Years at St Andrew’s Catholic College caters for children aged Prep to Year 5, and focuses on the needs and requirements of the students at these particular developmental stages.
The development of a good home-school partnership is an essential ingredient through the Junior Years. Involving parents and carers ensures a greater understanding of St Andrew’s Catholic College's role, and our respect for them as partners in the education process. We encourage and welcome involvement from parents in the life of the Junior Years.
Education does not only take place in the classroom. Playing is a time when children can develop many social skills. St Andrew’s Catholic College Junior Years provides a safe, happy play environment, where children can master their social skills to become well-rounded individuals.
Celebrating together is an important part of what we do in the Junior Years. This takes on many forms: class liturgies, whole College celebrations and weekly assemblies. |

The Middle Years at St Andrew’s Catholic College refers to the traditional Year groups 6 to 9 and provides opportunities for young people to learn and grow in ways that acknowledge and respect this unique and special phase of their development.
St Andrew’s Catholic College aims to provide experiences that allow our students to develop their abilities to acquire information and make meaning through investigation and problem solving, to become effective communicators and reflective learners.
Students in the Middle Years have full access to purpose built specialist classrooms for Science, Material Arts, Visual Arts, Textiles, Music, Information Technology and Food Technology.
The success of our Middle Years is embedded in the holistic journey of students from a culture of Junior, to Middle, to Senior Years, where each phase concentrates on the needs of the students at that particular developmental stage. The advent of Middle Years allowsSt Andrew’s Catholic College to incorporate the previously unaddressed issues of many young adolescents. |

Senior schooling at St Andrew’s Catholic College aims to develop communal leadership and service; it will prepare tomorrow’s leaders to develop flexibility of mind, strength of character, social skills and a sound belief system. It will provide the students with a clearly defined set of values and principles by which to lead their lives and a sense of service and giving.
Through their involvement in the Catholic faith community, students will be able to reach their full potential through the enhancement of their educational, personal and spiritual dimensions. They and the communities in which they live and study are sustained and enriched by the life giving relationships that they develop.
The curriculum of the Senior Years is one of intellectual and academic rigor independent of the chosen pathway selected by the student. The Senior Years curriculum at St Andrew’s Catholic College is inclusive, holistic and relevant and aims to develop a love of life long learning.
As well as the obvious priority of academic work during these years, this is also a time when students become more aware that, as older students in St Andrew’s Catholic College, they have an increased responsibility to their peers and to the College, as they accept more duties as Senior students. |
