Burbridge School was built in 1979 as an educational facility for children from Kindergarten to Year 12 who have special educational needs. All our students must meet the criterion of having an intellectual disability.
Our School Purpose is to provide individualized, meaningful, imaginative and practical learning opportunities for all our students.
We promote positive relationships between staff, students, parents, our neighbouring school and the wider community. |

The teaching staff at Burbridge have the professional requirements to teach in Western Australian schools. In addition they have passed the required number of units in Special Education needed to work in our setting and are registered with the West Australian College of Teaching. |

The school has seven classes including a satellite class located at Koondoola Primary School.
Each class has between 5 and 9 students and a minimum of two education assistants assigned to each class to assist the teacher with programs and attend to student care.
Our students therefore enjoy a high degree of individual tuition and support. |

Our facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, two well equipped playgrounds, an independent living skills room and a bicycle track. |
We have two nurses based at Burbridge, regular visits from Therapists and a School Psychologist. |
