Welcome to Bundoora Secondary College

At Bundoora Secondary College students are empowered in their learning by choosing their subjects based on interest and curiosity.
Year 7s have a common entry year covering a broad number of subjects.
In years 8-10 students will choose from over 160 possible electives, designing their own personalised learning pathway. At this time students also have access to traditional VCE subjects.
VCE and VCAL are both offered as a pathway choice in the senior years and these pathways can be blended if desired.
This personalised program provides a broad and challenging education to develop students’ skills, abilities and knowledge; all the qualities they will need as a foundation for further education, training, work and community participation in the 21st century.
Bundoora Secondary College promotes an environment that encourages students to investigate, understand and actively participate in their learning through a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
At Bundoora Secondary College a strong emphasis is placed on catering for the individual learning style of each student. Achievements and a growth mindset are both recognised and celebrated.
Our staff undertake intensive professional development to provide challenging and creative opportunities for students with special abilities.
Bundoora Secondary College is Victoria’s first government school specialising in partnerships and pathways in the Health and Community Services training and employment sector. This means that Bundoora Secondary College is able to offer to their senior students direct entry into the health industry.

Pathway to Health Industry Partnership

Bundoora Secondary College leads the way in the Health and Community Services.
The College has a strong focus on the Community Services and Health Industry which continues to be a growth employment area in this district.
Through partnerships with both ACU and Latrobe Universities and Melbourne Polytechnic Greensborough, Bundoora Secondary College is able to offer to their senior students entry into the health industry via the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector while the student is still at school and completing either the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). Early completion of two units of the Health Sciences Bachelor Degree give participating students both a contribution to their ATAR score and two credits from the bachelor degree should they choose to study at university in this pathway.

Extra Curricular Activities

Students at Bundoora Secondary College are encouraged to participate in sporting programs, drama and music performances, instrumental music, excursions, College camps, art exhibitions and displays and the Student Representative Council.

However uniquely at BSC many of these exciting programs can now be experienced through the main curriculum program rather than add ons throughout the year.

School Community

The College actively involves its community in the development of its educational programs, policies and the provision of a supportive and caring environment.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in College activities and to work with teachers in developing positive educational outcomes for their children.

This involvement is reflected in the teams and welfare structures that are available to assist students and parents.
