For more than 20 years, Kardinia International College has focused on the ideal of international understanding.
The College founded by Mr Katsumata was established as a symbol of hope for the world by being a place of quality and exceptional personal development, where people from every corner of the earth feel welcome and at home.
Graduates of Kardinia live in a global village where an understanding and deep respect of all other cultures and creeds is an essential characteristic of leaders and productive citizens of the 21st Century.
The College provides a caring environment for more than 1900 day and homestay students from Kindergarten to Year 12, preparing them to be leaders and productive participants in our rapidly changing world. |

One of our aims is educating our students to a profound sense of internationalism where an understanding, acceptance and respect for different cultures, different religions and different ways of life become a hallmark of their character.
We do this in a number of ways. We have developed a world class internationally minded curriculum, we encourage our students to be global citizens who embrace diversity and we have our own student-led Council for Global Representation (CGR), which aims to lead the College in recognising and further developing our stance as an internationally minded school.

Internationalism pervades the whole curriculum with particular emphasis provided by the International Baccalaureate Programmes.
As an International Baccalaureate World school, we offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to students in Years Kindergarten-6, a vertical curriculum based on the guidelines of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority to students in Years 7-10 and both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) to students in Years 11 and 12.
In the Junior School, the PYP embraces best research and practice from around the world, to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
In the Senior School, the vertical curriculum offers some very important advantages as students are able to progress at a rate, which is appropriate to their ability in each of their subjects. Very able students can fast track units, while for other students there is the opportunity to take courses, which allow extra time for consolidation at a more basic level. In practice, some students will complete the IB Diploma or the VCE in five years, most in six and others in seven years. An extensive range of VCE and IB subjects is available. |

The Senior School curriculum is also strengthened with our range of International Immersion Programmes. Year 9 students have the opportunity to join the positive, life changing Chiang Mai programme where they go to the College’s Sum Pun campus near Chiang Mai in Thailand for eight weeks. This unique programme involves a very exciting suite of challenging and thought-provoking experiences, helping the students to develop their independence, resilience, responsibility and confidence.
Groups of senior students are also given the opportunity to visit our sister school at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan for eight weeks, Gotemba Nishi High. Exchange opportunities are also available for students studying French who are able to participate in a four-week intensive programme attending our sister school, Institution St Alyre, in France. We are also working closely with our newest Sister School Discovery College in Hong Kong to develop further immersion programs that benefit students from both countries.
While our students live predominantly in and around Geelong, many students travel from the Western suburbs of Melbourne, Colac, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast and nearby regional centres including Inverleigh and Meredith. Our student population also includes up to 60 overseas students from countries including France, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and Singapore.
