Welcome to Haileybury Rendall School where every student matters every day, and our vision is to be the best school in Northern Australia. Our School is closely affiliated with Haileybury, which has four campuses in Melbourne and a partner school in China, and we draw on the successes of this great world school in guiding our students’ educational journeys.
We have received awards from the Australian Education Awards, including Regional School of the Year 2023.
Boarding at HRS
Haileybury Rendall School welcomes boarding students from Years 7 to 12 from across northern Australia. Our students are from a diverse range of backgrounds from across central and northern Australia, including a large population of students from remote communities.
Boarding continues to flourish at the School. Our boarding facilities were recently upgraded and the opening of an International Boarding House in 2022 will allow us to cater for a wide range of students from across South-East Asia. This will further enhance our reputation of providing a diverse cultural experience for all our students.
In 2022 Haileybury Rendall School was named Boarding School of the Year at the Australian Education Awards.
Explicit Teaching Model and strong learning culture
Our innovative Explicit Teaching Model provides the best possible start for all Junior School students, helping them engage with and master the core skills of literacy and numeracy.
Developing and maintaining a strong academic culture is a top priority and we are fortunate to be able to use the expertise of Haileybury to shape our learning culture. Our teaching framework includes the highly successful Explicit Teaching Model in the primary years and the VCE in the senior years, both of which help drive high quality results.
Outdoor Education Program
Nothing beats real life experience. Through our compulsory Experiential Learning program we aim to create independent, capable and environmentally aware young adults who can work as a group to overcome physical and mental challenges in remote environments.

The wellbeing of our students is at the forefront of everything we do, and we want all our students to leave school excited and prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Our academic and pastoral programs help foster this attitude by building skills in resilience, creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.

Haileybury Rendall School is committed to educating Indigenous students from remote Australian communities. It is our vision that all Indigenous students have access to high-quality secondary education.
