Focusing on the individual student and personalising pathways, The Studio School is an independent Year 10-12 coeducational campus in Fremantle that offers an alternative to mainstream schooling structures and systems through a studio model that sees students combining their studies with real-world projects and engagements in order to achieve their WACE and, if desired, an ATAR.
The Studio School enables its students to experience education as a seamless transition into the world of work and tertiary learning; connected to the real world, authentic and purposeful.
"A day at TSS looks quite different from mainstream schooling. It is individualised and catered for each student."
- Esther Hill, Head of Campus
With a shared vision of making a positive difference in our world, The Studio School offers the opportunity for students to make a positive difference through celebrating and tapping into their difference, diversity, skills and interests, enabling every student to flourish through contributing to and engaging with the real world in meaningful ways.
At The Studio School (TSS), we understand that every student learns differently. Staff at The Studio School will engage with each individual student through a range of creative exploration processes to develop a custom learning program that is co-designed around their specific interests and abilities.
The Studio School empowers our students to experience education as a seamless transition into tertiary learning and the world of work. Learning is hands-on, authentic, purposeful, and connected to the real world.
Project-based learning (PBL) is a teaching and learning method where students learn not only from textbooks and didactic teaching but also by engaging in projects in the real world. Students undertake a variety of projects, allowing them to develop a range of skills, knowledge and understandings. To deepen their learning and contextualise their projects in the real world, students have the opportunity to collaborate with Project Mentors and relevant industry partnerships, as well as other students and staff.
By learning from a variety of people and experiences, students at TSS can develop the skills and knowledge they need to make a positive difference in the world. The Studio School’s learning ecosystem is designed to help students become well-rounded individuals who are prepared to flourish long after their education has been completed with The Studio School.
TSS offers young people the opportunity to add value to their communities by celebrating their difference and diversity. TSS empowers students to experience education as a seamless transition into tertiary learning and the world of work by providing learning that is authentic and meaningful.
