Proudly founded in the Mercy charism, our College is part of the Catholic Schools Broken Bay, a system of schools whose mission it is to provide an authentic, professional Catholic education delivered with care and compassion.
The College has a long history of academic excellence. We believe that outstanding education fosters individual growth. Our team of highly qualified and professional teachers provide students with engaging learning experiences that cater for all learners.
The College encourages the development of the whole person and offers numerous opportunities for students to participate in mission and co-curricular sports and activities. Over 30 programs are offered, including a variety of Sport, Creative and Performance Arts, Mission & Social Justice and special interest clubs.
STEM is an approach to thinking and learning which integrates the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, highlighting the connectedness of these subjects and emphasising the capabilities and dispositions students will need to succeed in these areas.
Through STEM, students are able to develop key skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical analysis, communication and resilience.
STEM is important to help our students to succeed in the modern world. The skills developed through STEM are vital for success in College and beyond.
Research shows that an all-girls’ education leads to higher academic achievement and higher social and emotional confidence. They have more leadership opportunities, they have greater participation in subjects such as Science, Technology and Mathematics and are more likely to pursue university studies and careers in STEM fields. They also have enhanced career aspirations.
A girls’ only learning environment is purposeful, calm, and supportive. Girls put themselves forward for opportunities and take risks in their learning. They feel comfortable to do things that they might otherwise feel self-conscious about.
In the Mercy environment which is welcoming, safe and inclusive, students can be themselves as they continue to grow and develop their ability to think and learn, their skill and knowledge in co-curricular areas, and in their faith.
