Ryde Secondary College is a partially selective co-educational high school for students from Years 7 to 12, with an additional gifted and talented mainstream class in each of the junior years. Ryde Secondary College includes a Special Education Support Unit . Outstanding results are achieved by our students in both selective and mainstream groups.
Students are offered a wide range of subject choices which can be tailored to enable them to meet their academic, creative, physical and social potentials.
An academically selective student cohort of two classes and additonal Gifted and Talented class operates in each of our Years 7 to 10.
A wide range of levels are available to senior students at Ryde Secondary College in English and Mathematics to suit all ability levels.
All students are supported by programs designed to maximise their learning outcomes while focusing on the development of respect, cooperation, responsibility and leadership.
Ryde Secondary College culture is enriched by the inclusion of a Special Education Unit, where some students are integrated into mainstream elective classes in line with the school's policy of inclusion.
More than 90 extracurricular activities at Ryde Secondary College provide opportunities for every child to “shine”, including competitive sport, leadership programs, extensive music programs including a College Choir, Jazz and Concert bands and ensembles. Other cultural activities include Creative Fusion, Fashion Show, Drama Club, Ryde Idol, the Sharemarket Competition, Interact and Duke of Edinburgh Scheme a Creative Stiches Club and Homework Club. Through these schemes, students are provided with extra challenges outside the normal curriculum.

Students actively participate in leadership and citizenship programs including High Resolves, Peer Support, SRC, Max Potential and Prefect groups, Duke of Edinburgh and volunteering programs.

The aim of the sport program at Ryde Secondary College is to provide as wide a variety of sporting experiences as possible to all students. Grade and Social sport are important components of this program.
Ryde Secondary College is pleased to offer a wide range of sporting activities such as AFL, Rugby Union, Cricket, Basketball and Soccer, as well as social sporting opportunities such as Dance, Ice Skating, Badminton and Swimming.
