Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a multi-campus secondary college dedicated to learning excellence in a faith-filled, engaged and supportive environment.
Located in Braybrook in Melbourne’s inner-western corridor, our junior campuses cater to year 7 - 9 boys and year 7 - 9 girls on separate sites. Our co-educational year 10 - 12 co-senior campus offers VCE, VET and VCAL programs.
Each student is known and valued in the College’s inclusive multicultural community, comprising more than 60 nationalities.
Our mission is to educate and prepare students to be the best they are called to be, living out our values of faith, acceptance, compassion and excellence (FACE). The College motto Many Minds, One Heart is embraced by the community.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College encourages every student to strive for excellence and fulfil their potential, no matter where their individual talents and interests lie – whether academically with STEM subjects - science, technology, English and mathematics, artistically through music and drama, hands-on in the trade training centre or in out-of-classroom areas such as sport and social justice.
The College offers more than 52 VCE subjects, along with VET and VCAL programs, as well as opportunities to study university units in Year 12.
Academically gifted students are encouraged to participate in our accelerated educational and enrichment programs, while dedicated teachers and learning support staff provide extra help to those who need it.
We use a personalised learning approach, tailoring support to the learning needs, interests and readiness of each student with the goal of improving their ability to create, remember, understand and apply information.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College seeks to provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students with a range of abilities, interests and backgrounds.
In addition to core subjects, the College offers sports, music, visual and performing arts, languages other than English, technology and other hands-on studies.
Students are encouraged to be the best they are called to be – both inside and outside the classroom, through opportunities including international exchange, musicals, debating, sports, volunteering, book and science clubs, student leadership positions and more.
College facilities include an indoor swimming pool, 850-seat auditorium, two libraries and a wholly-owned outdoor education campus.
The 2016 VCE cohort produced outstanding study scores and a median study score of 30 with ATAR scores improving year-on-year.
More than 90 percent of students go on to university, with 2016 including a Vice Chancellor and two Dean Scholarships in Engineering. Our 2016 Dux achieved an ATAR of 99.5. We also offer the option of VCAL qualifications for students who aspire to a career in the trades. Success in VCAL is strong with many receiving on-going employment.
Our teachers and leadership team care about each student, not just as a learner, but as a whole person.
Those joining the school at year 7 enjoy a special transition program to help them form new friendships and get to know each other.
Initiatives through the College’s Family Schools Partnerships Program include breakfast clubs, parent workshops, homework help and swimming lessons. The College employs a dedicated team to ensure each student is happy, safe and feels they belong, including learning support officers, literacy and numeracy support staff, English as Additional Language (EAL) teachers, psychologists, social workers and family liaison staff.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a Respectful Relationships & Child Safe School.
